First invented in 1875, electrolysis is the only permanent solution for hair removal and the treatment of an array of skin blemish conditions.
Unwanted hair is removed by using a tiny probe to deliver a small electrical current into the hair follicle. The current destroys the follicle, preventing the hair from growing back.
Whether you have light or dark skin, coarse or fine hair, electrolysis can effectively target and destroy hair follicles without causing pigmentation issues or other side effects. It works on all facial hair types and skin tones.
What is Electrolysis?
You may experience redness and warmth immediately after treatment. It is important to follow these steps carefully for at least 24 hours or until the skin returns to normal to reduce the risk of infection and to promote healing.
In the evening after your treatment, gently cleanse the area with cool water, then apply the antiseptic gel, aloe vera, witch hazel.
Apply an icepack if area is swollen.
For 24 hours, or until the area has healed avoid:
Touching and picking the treated area
Swimming, sunbathing, exercise or sunbeds
Heat treatments such as sauna/steam rooms.
AHA/BHA products such a glycolic, lactic acid and Retin-A
Harsh soaps, exfoliants and astringents
Perfumes
Make-up directly on the treated area
Any change of medication should be discussed before your next treatment.
After Care
Advanced Cosmetic Procedures
Electrolysis can treat skin blemishes like milia, broken capillaries, and skin tags. A fine probe or needle delivers a gentle electrical current to the blemish, breaking it down safely so it can be removed, leaving the surrounding skin unharmed.
Warts
Often two treatments are needed, taken 8 weeks apart to remove warts.
Moles
Size of mole will determine the number of treatments required.
Skin Tags
Cauterised and removed immediately. Small red marks or scabbing disappears after 7-10 days
Age Spots
Blemishes lifted away. Scabbing will disappear over a couple of weeks.
Thread Veins
Caused by permanently dilated capillaries, a number of veins can be treated in a session.
Blood Spots
After treatment, the skin’s natural healing process is triggered.
Spider Naevus
Fading begins about 3 weeks after treatment, with broken capillaries beginning to disappear.
Milia
The current cauterises the blemish and the milia is reabsorbed back into the skin.
Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra
A common disorder which develops in adolescence on black, asian and olive skin types.
Seborrhoeic Keratosis
Blemishes lifted away. Scabbing will disappear over a couple of weeks..
Syringoma
The blemish will shrink and take up to 2 weeks to fully heal.
Xanthelasma
Targets cholesterol deposits by breaking down the fatty tissue.
